Suggestion: Add mouseover text to the eye icon that says "hide collections". Update the "create your first collection" placeholder to explain how hidden collections work and how to use them.
With the new setup, it's clear which collections are hidden and which ones are not. In fact, it's so straightforward now that I don't think a tutorial would be necessary to understand what's going on.
